Funding legal services for refugees is life-changing because without it, it’s almost impossible for families and individuals seeking Australia’s protection to get a visa and find safety.
“For me, human rights has always been about equality,” Sarah Dale, Principal Solicitor of RACS.
“Our national anthem clearly says ‘For those who’ve come across the seas, we’ve boundless plains to share’.
If we can protect that, then we are doing what we are singing. We are doing what we can live up to. That’s exactly who we are and that’s exactly who we strive to be – a welcoming place and a place where everybody has access to safety.
The main rights that we are protecting at RACS are those that are enshrined in the Refugees Convention, a fundamental piece of international law which allows people to seek asylum when and if they need to do so.
With your help, we will continue to protect these rights.
