WORKING AT RACS AS A VOLUNTEER INTERPRETER

Do you speak a second language ?

Become a Volunteer Interpreter with RACS.

The majority of our clients are new to Australia and we need a pool of volunteer interpreters to rely upon.

We need volunteer interpreters for our Evening Advice clinic on Mondays and day to day appointments.

Even though, we are seeking Community Interpreters, we welcome all of you who have a NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators & Interpreters) accreditation.

Our needs are for interpreting speaking rather than written material, though translators are welcome to volunteer.

At present we conduct our advice clinics every Monday Evening with appointments scheduled for 4:30pm. and 5:30pm. Appointments are generally about an hour, but may be shorter or longer. Our solicitors also book clients during the week; these clients may also require interpreting.

Our clients are from many language backgrounds with particular demand in Arabic, Pashto, Urdu, Farsi, Dari, Turkish, Nepalese, Bengali, Spanish, Indonesian, Burmese languages, Mandarin and Cantonese, although of course, all languages are welcome.

If you can help us please send your interest to our e-mail address (admin@racs.org.au) or contact the RACS office on (02) 9211 4001.
